Thomson to Release VoIP Phone Under GE Brand
Thomson, whose Thomson ST2030 IP Phone has been a hit in the European market, has announced plans to launch a VoIP Phone under the GE brand name for use with SunRocket VoIP Service. Although the announcement was vague and did not include any information on the IP Phone, I have seen the US version of the ST2030, and is not a residential solution. My best bet is that Thomson and SunRocket will release a phone similar to the GE 28300EE2 cordless IP Phone for use with Skype. The phone use DECT 6.0 and allows user to make calls over the PSTN or Skype. This would be an excellent move for both Thomson and SunRocket, as the phone offers the consumers the best wireless standard, a lifeline, and low cost long distance.
